Information Packets, Redundancy, and Weaving Frames

Frame theory is one of the key ingredients in modern applied harmonic analysis. With the purpose of introducing {\it information packets} we begin the talk by reviewing a number of generalizations of frame theory that have been proposed over the years. In the second part of the talk we discuss properties of frames that are generated as an orbit of a linear operator, most importantly, the Carleson frame. Recent results about the redundancy of the Carleson frame can be phrased in terms of {\it weaving frames.} It is an open problem whether special wavelet frame can possess similar properties; this problem and its relation with information packets will be discussed in detail.
