David Bartusel (RWTH Aachen):
The role of connectedness in STFT phase retrieval

We consider the phase retrieval problem for the short-time Fourier transform. While it is well-known that phase retrieval is possible once the window's ambiguity function vanishes almost nowhere, little is known about windows which fail to meet this condition. The goal of this talk is to provide a complete characterization for phase retrieval with respect to a larger window class. The criteria involved are intuitive and easy to check as they solely depend on the supports of both the window and the signal in question.
