Real World Problems regarding Cryptographic Key Management
Joseph Gersch
Secure64 Software Corporation
Email, secure web transactions, and the Internet of Things (IoT) all
rely on cryptographic algorithms to enable identity, authentication,
authorization and privacy. Although the cryptography itself has solid
foundations, applications also require methods for effective key
management and distribution such as PKI certificates or PGP key servers.
Dr. Gersch will describe the issues and outright failures in current
methods used to manage and distribute cryptographic keys required to
safeguard Internet based applications.
The talk will be accessible to general audience mathematicians/computer
scientists.
Working with tensors: a lesson from examples.
Joshua Maglione
CSU
We report on our survey of invariants of more than 500,000,000 tensors.
We find that there is an abundance of structure that has been ignored.
We detail the results and some applications, and we describe methods
necessary to compute on such a massive scale. This is a report on individual
and joint work with P.A. Brooksbank and J.B. Wilson.
