From Bioinformatics to Nanotechnology, putting moisture into the model.
A. K. Rappe, Department of Chemistry, Colorado State University

In areas of science as diverse as bioinformatics and nanotechnology the
science that drives the technology is routinely left out of popular
computational models. The current state-of-the-art of computational models is not
unlike leaving moisture out of weather forecasting models.
In this seminar the underlying missing science will be reviewed,
the computational reasons why it is ignored will be explored, and a few
potential solutions will be provided.
