Hey guys,
Just a few things I briefly want to mention. First off, your homeworks from the week before spring break are on my office door, so if you want to pick yours up before recitation to facilitate your studying, you can do so.
Second and most importantly, I hope you're all aware of the upcoming midterm on Wednesday evening at 7:00. The exam will be over all section since the last exam up through 12.5 (so I think that means 10.5-12.5), although that doesn't mean you can just forget all the material from the last exam. If for some reason you can't make it to the exam, please e-mail Dr. Stovall as soon as possible so that you can make arrangements to take the makeup exam.
Anyway, since there's an exam this week, there will be no quiz during recitation. Instead, I'll hope to answer as many of your questions as I can in recitation. Furthermore, there will be a review session Monday night at 6:00 in DRL 4C2 (unfortunately, the lecture halls are apparently all full up). There is also a review session being held by David Fithian (another 114 TA) on Monday at 5:00 in DRL A1 if you'd rather go to that.
Also, to help you study, there is again a solution key for the practice midterm available at: http://www.math.upenn.edu/~fithian/114S05/smt2key.pdf As before, be sure to use Adobe Acrobat to view it if you're on a Mac; for whatever reason, Preview doesn't like it (and remember there's also a solution key for the last midterm here: http://www.math.upenn.edu/~schak/midterm1.pdf).
Finally, the homework this week consists of the core problems from sections 12.3, 12.4 and 12.5. As usual, get those to me by Friday at noon.
Hope you all had a good Spring Break, and I'll see you in recitation.
Clay
