Guys,

At this point, all of the midterms should be graded, including the makeup exams, so everybody's scores should be up on Blackboard. If there's any sort of problem with any of your scores posted on Blackboard, please do let me know.

As far as next week is concerned, the first thing to note is that core problems from sections 10.5, 10.7 and 11.1 will be due a week from today, as usual. Second, there will be no quiz next week, as we'll need to devote some time in recitation to going over the midterm. And, of course, third is that I will be giving you your midterms to look over in recitation next week. Now, there are certain formalities that we have to observe in this whole process. In the last 15 minutes or so of recitation, I'll give you back your midterm to look over. If there seems to be any sort of mistake in how it was graded, I'll have some unusually colored pencils with which you can mark anything you think is suspicious; sometime during the week I'll then review those notations and award more points if I think they're warranted. If there aren't any mistakes that you want me to look over, I'll need you to sign a sheet declaring that there were no grading errors; once I have that sheet, you're welcome to keep the exam, but there will be no further adjustment of your score after that point. I know it sounds sort of complicated and overdone, but this is how it has to be, so hopefully we can make it work as smoothly as possible.

Again, please remember that these scores are raw scores and that there will be a curve, which you'll hear about as soon as it's finalized.

If you have any questions, please let me know,

Clay
