Mentor/Mentee Program

One of the ways our chapter is encouraging success for womxn in math and fostering relationships between undergraduates, graduates, post-doctorates, and professors is through a mentor/mentee program. The goal of this program is to find a mentor with a common goal as the mentee and meet semi-regularly, depending on schedules. Some mentor/mentees grab coffee every few weeks, some catch up before/after chapter meetings, it all depends on what works best for them! This program has been successful so far with mentees still communicating with mentors after graduation and some mentors have even written letters of recommendations.

Feedback from mentors/mentees

"My mentor has been extremely helpful throughout my graduate years here at CSU! They met with me every couple of weeks and we talked about everything. Classes, qualification exams, plans for graduation, and things outside of math too! Having a mentor definitely made the difference as I worked my way through my first two years."

"I regret not having a mentor my first year in graduate school as I felt lost. I look forward to getting a mentor this year!"
