A classification of Lagrangian fibrations by Jacobians

Abstract:

Let C->P^n be a family of integral genus n curves with `mild singularities', such that the compactified relative Jacobian X=\bar{Pic}^1(C/P^n) is a holomorphic symplectic manifold. We prove that X is the Beauville-Mukai integrable system provided the degree of the discriminant locus in P^n is sufficiently large.
