Math Club

Meetings: Wednesday 4-5pm in Weber 117

The Colorado State University Math Club is a student club that runs events related to mathematics and some times not so related to mathematics. Some of our past activities include:

  1. mathematical lectures on music and mathematics,
  2. mathematical movies on knot theory and hyperbolic geometry,
  3. career talks and panel discussions about applying to graduate school,
  4. helping to run Math Day and other math/science events for school students held on campus,
  5. outreach programs at local schools,
  6. attending the AMS/MAA (American Mathematical Society/Mathematical Association of America) joint meeting in January; past meetings have been held in Washington D.C., San Diego, and New Orleans, and the 2010 meeting will be in San Francisco,
  7. fundraising to support the trip (e.g. helping with Positive Impact and parking at football games).

Meetings this semester will be at 4pm every Wednesday in Weber 117. Contact the faculty advisor, Justin Sawon, if you are interested in being involved with the Math Club. Everyone is welcome: math majors, math minors, and others.
