Fall 2004 : MAT 590 Problem Seminar
Tuesday and Thursday 2:10-3:30 in Math Tower 4-130
Graduate problem seminar
The purpose of this seminar is to prepare students for the comprehensive exams. We will go through problems from previous years' exams. Students should attempt the problems outside of the class and be prepared to discuss their solutions at the class.
About the course
Classes will be quite informal. Nonetheless, it is to your advantage to spend some time thinking about the problems before coming to the class.
Grading will be S/U only (satisfactory/unsatisfactory).
My office is MAT 4-104 and my office hours are Tuesday 10am - 12noon, plus Thursday 5 - 6pm in the Math Learning Centre. Alternately, you can email me on sawon@math.sunysb.edu to make an appointment.
