The Story of me:

Somewhere in Australia.
I'm a child of the 80's. That's not to say I support a mullet, or
I listen to Whitesnake, it simply refers to the fact that I was born in the late
months of 1984 in Eastern Iowa.
When I was 5 years old, my mom took me to violin lessons. I liked
playing in the dirt, I didn't like the violin.
In the fourth grade, I was invited to participate in an accelerated math program. They gave us
calculators. I never learned long division...
High school was a drag.
After high school, I rode my bicycle from San Francisco to Virginia Beach. I learned a lot about living, but
I didn't learn long division...
In college, I was given a book about Cantor, set theory, and the infinite. My
naievity led me to believe that I could study this stuff (read: without losing my mind).
So I set out into the beautiful world of pure mathematics.
At some point around this time, I finally learned long division.
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Mathematics (useful huh?).
The graduate committee at Colorado State University decided to let me jump on board in Fall 2007.
Many times along my journey, I crossed paths with a pretty girl named Kristy.
Much arm-twisting led to an engagement.
I'm very lucky, Kristy is certifiably awesome.
We now have a wonderful life in Fort Collins, Colorado where Kristy keeps me grounded, mathematics keeps me honest, and climbing keeps me sane.
For more on Kristy, mathematics, and climbing, see the clickies to the left.
