I began my mathematical research in algebraic
geometry.
Mostly, I have been studying curves on higher-dimensional varieties,
including
the theory of Gromov-Witten invariants and related questions of
rigidity. More recently I have begun to explore applications of geometry
to the analysis of high-dimensional data.
At present, I am a systems analyst with Spirae, Inc. right
here in Fort Collins.
While at Colorado State University, I have taught a wide range of
courses, from first-year ungergraduate to Ph.D. level. The
mathematics graduate students twice (2004 & '06) honored me by
voting me Oustanding Professor for Graduate Instruction. My
graduate advisees were Dr. Diane Davis, Ph.D. 2007, and Dr. Pamela
Peters, M.S. 2003.
