Propagation in Nonlinear Periodic Media

I will discuss wave propagation in nonlinear waveguide array in
the presence of normal and anomalous diffraction. Novel model governing the
propagation of an optical beam in a diffraction managed nonlinear waveguide
array is proposed. A nonlocal integral equation governing the slow evolution of
the beam amplitude is derived. Two novel numerical schemes are proposed to
construct soliton solutions for both the integral equation as well as for the
original model.
