In our paper “Legendrian contact homology and nondestabilizability”, David Shea Vela-Vick and I gave the first example of a Legendrian knot which does not have maximal Thurston–Bennequin invariant (among all Legendrian representatives of its knot type), but does have nontrivial Legendrian contact homology.
