Partly in response to growing concerns about the price of textbooks, the main textbook for this course is the free, on-line textbook A First Course in Linear Algebra, by Robert Beezer, sometimes supplemented with additional notes. Each week, the syllabus section of the course home page will link to the relevant portion(s) of the book.

If you would like to purchase a nicely-bound version of the book, consider going to Lulu. Caveat: We won't cover all of the material in this textbook; conversely, not all topics presented in class are treated in FCLA. It's up to you to figure out if this is valuable to you.

You are, of course, welcome to purchase any textbook you like. (A number of very good ones are available on the market; they're just a little expensive for my taste.) Some students have reported that the Schaum's Outline for linear algebra gives good mathematical value per dollar.
