Your final project is to be a poster (approximately 2x3 feet) about
some aspect of mathematics. You've got a lot of flexibility here!
Options include:
- Famous topics in math Pick a question or conjecture or
area of math. Describe what it is, and why it's important. Ideas
for areas:
- Things related to material we've covered in class;
- The American Mathematical
Society's Mathematical
Moments
- One of
the Millenium
Problems
- Other open conjectures
- Recent theorems (prime gaps, Kepler conjecture, ...?)
- Mathematics and art Make your own art, inspired by
mathematics! Ideas include:
- Do something inspired by
the Mathematical
Imagery at the AMS.
- Trace a connection between mathematics and the work of an artist
(or school of art).
