LUCKASEN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 

The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University is pleased to invite applications for scholarships for freshman students entering the mathematics major beginning next fall.

Eligibility

The student must be admitted to Colorado State University with Mathematics as their primary major.

The student must have an admissions index of 125 or higher.

Applicants must be from the Northern Colorado Area, preferably the surrounding Fort Collins area.

Application

Procedure

The student should submit:

A letter indicating the reasons the student wishes to major in mathematics. (limit of two single-sided, typewritten pages)

A letter of recommendation from at least one high school mathematics teacher.

Renewal

Criteria

Renewal is subject to availability of funds and is at the discretion of the Head of the Department of Mathematics. It is anticipated that scholarships will be renewed for recipients satisfying the following conditions.

The student must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.25 and complete at least 30 credits.

The student must be making satisfactory progress toward a degree in mathematics as determined by the Department Head. This will generally include completion of at least three credits of mathematics courses per semester. The primary major must remain as Mathematics. Renewable up to five years contingent on availability of funds.
