Study mathematics the Russian way in English!! The American Mathematical Society (AMS) invites undergraduate mathematics and computer science majors in the U.S. to apply for a special scholarship to attend a semester in the Math in Moscow program, run by the Independent University of Moscow.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a National organization promoting societal change, equity for women, education and self-development over the life spans. In 1940, the Fort Collins Branch purchased a home and operated it as a cooperative home for women students of CSU for 30 years. The house was sold and the interest from the money from this sale constitutes the Cooperative House Fund from which scholarships are awarded annually to CSU students.
The Fort Collins Branch will be awarding two $1,500 scholarships for the Fall 2008 CSU school term. Eligibility requirements are:

The REU Program is an opportunity for six undergraduates students from around the country to visit NAU to work one-oon-one with NAU faculty. Participating faculty for the 2008 program include Dr. Jim Swift, Dr. Michael Falk, and Dr. Steve Wilson. Each participant will receive lodging in an on-campus dormitory, a $2,500 stipend, travel reimbursement, and a small allowance for food. Six semester credits will be earned at Northern Arizona University, which can be transferred to the participant's home institution. Participants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States and should expect to graduate in Fall 2008 or Spring 2009. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Institute for Mathematics at North Carolina State University is a dynamic environment where young mathematicians engage in exciting and challenging projects. Teams of 3-4 students work collaboratively on projects with links to industry and govenment labs.

REU+ in Mathematics: for under-represented minority students; 11 week program
REG in Mathematics: for grad students in math in 1st two years of graduate school; 10 week program

The focus of this annual conference is to give undergraduate mathematics students an opportunity to present their work in a professional, supportive setting. It is also an occasion for students to become acquainted with other students from the region, and to learn more about the mathematical profession, including graduate school and career opportunities.
Undergraduates from throughout the Rocky Mountain region are encouraged to attend, and especially encouraged to make a presentation. Presentation topics could include the results of classroom, independent studym, REU or other research projects. Both research and expository topics are welcome.
Registration is free for all participants, and includes a buffet lunch. Participants traveling from outside the Colorado Springs region will be partially reimbursed for travel expenses.

Cornell Summer Math Institute 2008
Undergraduate Experience
June 7, 2008 - August 2, 2008
The SMI Program's primary purpose is to better prepare undergraduates, particularlywomen and underrepresented minorities, for the rigors of beginning courses in PhD programs in the mathematical sciences. The main component is SMI in 2008 is an
analysis course at a level comparable to Cornell's honors undergraduate analysis course. There is a project component to SMI.
It is expected that applicants have taken at least one course in advanced calculus, analysis, topology, or complex analysis. Students who will graduate during the 2007-08 academic year are eligible to apply. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.

Math in Moscow Scholarships
Deadline for registration, April 15, 2008
The AMS invites undergraduate mathematics and computer science majors in the United States to apply for a special scholarship to attend a Math in Moscow semester at the Independent University of Moscow. Funding is provided by the National Science Foundation and is administered by the AMS.
The Math in Moscow program offers a unique opportunity for intensive mathematical study and research, as well as a chance for students to experience life in Moscow. Instruction during the semester emphasizes in-depth understanding of carefully selected material: students explore significant connections with contemporary research topics under the guidance of internationally recognized research mathematicians, all of whom have considerable teaching experience in English.

RIPS is a nine-week, intensive residential research experience for math, engineering, computer science and physical/life science undergraduate students that assigns teams of four students to a project designed by an industrial sponsor. The UBM PI meeting and third year review will be held at the Mathematical Biosciences Institute http://mbi.osu.edu at Ohio State University on Wednesday and Thursday June 4 and 5, 2008. Program and details will follow soon, but we wanted to get it on your calendars. The program will be approximately a day and a half with half a day for student papers. The third year review for those projects funded in 2005 will be a half day.
