One, possibly two, positions open reporting to architecture group - probably need to be located in Knoxville, but San Jose is probably also an option:

Mellanox Technologies is looking for experienced computational researchers to work on developing and optimizing the next generation of scalable HPC applications. A background in developing HPC application programs in areas such as Computational Chemistry, Physics, Meteorology, Climate Simulation, Engineering, or other closely related fields, or in methodologies for automatic code transformations is required. Experience using co-processor technologies is highly desirable.


  1. Investigate and understand the performance and characteristics of selected applications
  2. Understand the algorithms being used
  3. Develop alternative algorithms or alternative implementations of existing algorithms with the goal of improving performance and scalability when run on Mellanox hardware.
  4. Develop general methodologies for such application code improvements
  5. Work with HPC customers and code developers on application code improvement
  6. Publish the results of such work in peer-reviewed literature and at conferences


  • PhD in Natural or Mathematical sciences, computer science with emphasis on compiler related technologies, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in application code development
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and go deep into new areas
  • Can work independently
  • Strong communication oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work with customers and partners


Two positions open reporting to ME. Can be located in Knoxville or San Jose.


Mellanox Technologies is looking for an experienced software engineer with experience in one of the following: MPI development, PGAS/SHMEM development, distributed systems or InfiniBand to work in an exciting environment delivering the next generation of solutions for high performance computing.


  1. Perform software development of MPI, PGAS frameworks
  2. Research and Develop HPC collective algorithms for MPI, PGAS
  3. Develop messaging low-level transport libraries based on MLNX inter-connect technologies
  4. Research and develop GPGPU integration with Mellanox frameworks
  5. Support and design customer cluster environment
  6. Design and develop parallel frameworks and storage for clusters


  • BSc, MSc or PhD in computer science or related discipline
  • Minimum three years of experience in software development
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and go deep into new areas
  • Can work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work with customers and partners
