Tegan Emerson attends the 2nd Annual Heidelberg Laureate Forum Sept. 21-26 2014

Tegan Emerson

Tegan Emerson, graduate student in the Department of Mathematics, attended the 2nd Annual Heidelberg Laureate Forum from Sept. 21-26. This forum is hosted in Heidelberg, Germany, and gives young researchers in the fields of mathematics and computer science the opportunity to be inspired by some of the top mathematicians and computer scientists from around the world. Each keynote speaker has been previously awarded with one of these prestigious honors: the Fields Medal, the Abel Prize, the Turing Award, or the Nevanlinna Prize.

Emerson feels incredibly honored to be awarded one of the 200 sought-after spots in mathematics and computer science for the 2014 forum. The week-long event is comprised of presentations given by individual laureates, social and outreach activities, and a poster session. Most of the events related to the forum are in a media archive.
