The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University invites applications for five tenured or tenure-track faculty positions with appointment levels commensurate with experience. Applicants are sought in any area of mathematics. Colorado State has embarked on an ambitious plan to build interdisciplinary research and education across campus. Mathematics has a key role to play and a majority of these positions are intended for mathematicians with the potential to initiate and take an active part in multidisciplinary research and education efforts on campus or with external entities.

Responsibilities:
1. Active participation in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses assigned by the Department Chair.
2. The development and maintenance of a vigorous and well-recognized research program in the candidate's individual areas of interest and expertise in mathematics, and a continuing commitment to scholarly and professional activities.
3. Participation in Department and University administrative functions.
4. Adherence to the responsibilities of the general faculty as delineated by the University Faculty/Staff Manual.
Qualifications required of all candidates:
1. An earned doctorate at the time of appointment, in mathematics or a closely related area.
2. A strong professional background preparing them for teaching and research in Mathematics.
Salary and Starting Date: The starting date for the position is August 16, 2008. The salary is negotiable, depending on background and experience.
