Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University seeks applicants for two postdoctoral positions.  These positions are primarily for research (subject to funding). The teaching load of the postdoc positions is one course per semester.

Responsibilities:

Both postdocs will have the responsibility to conduct a program of research under the direction of Professor Estep in the Department of Mathematics. The area of research for one postdoc is the numerical solution of multiscale, multiphysics evolutionary problems by operator decomposition techniques with applications to modeling fusion reactions. The area of research for the second postdoc is open within the interests of Dr. Estep. Both postdocs will be expected to adhere to the responsibilities of the general faculty as delineated by the University Faculty/Staff Manual.

Qualifications:

Eligibility requirements include a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in any area of engineering, mathematics, and science. Preference will be given to applicants having experience with familiarity with numerical solution of partial differential equations, fusion physics, and programming in C++.

Salary and Starting Date:

The salary is $55,000 and there is a generous travel allowance. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possible second year depending on mutual agreement. The positions can begin anytime after the deadline, but not later than August 15, 2007.
