What does the money support

Undergraduate Scholarship Support
Undergraduate Scholarships offer support to the best and brightest students. Many of our students require some financial support as they pursue their degrees. Offering undergraduate scholarship support both for those students with need and those students whose excellence warrant a merit scholarship allow us to invest in the future of mathematics.
However, the department has funds to award only about 5 scholarships per year, based on merit and need, and no funding has been available to provide research fellowships to our undergraduates. The support that you provide will allow the department to expand the number of undergraduate scholarships or to offer research fellowships to undergraduates. Or, if you prefer, your donation will be directed to those areas in the department that have the greatest need of support.
Graduate Fellowships
Outstanding graduate students are vital to any university; both teaching and research depend on them. The best faculty are attracted to campuses with excellent students, ensuring continued excellence. By investing in them, we develop a precious asset and insure the future. The best students challenge and inspire faculty and enrich the academic environment. To attract these outstanding candidates to our campus, financial support is crucial.
