James W. Thomas

Professor James Thomas received his B.S. degree from
Michigan Technological University in 1963 and his Ph.D. from the
University of Arizona in 1967. He joined the Colorado State University
mathematics faculty in 1972.
Professor Thomas has taught a wide variety of applied mathematics courses, including partial differential equations, dynamical systems, numerical partial differential equations, computational fluid dynamics, vector algorithms and numerical methods for conservation lawls. He has been heavily involved in the development of both the undergraduate and graduate programs in applied and computational mathematics.
