Each year since 1977
the Department has hosted Colorado State University Math Day.
Math Day attracts 600 to 700 of the best math students
from Colorado high schools
for a day of mathematics competition.
A highlight of the day is a college-bowl-style competition
which features a full, double-elimination tournament
with 3-member teams from 64 schools.
This annual event has helped the Department
maintain close ties with Colorado secondary schools.
On an individual basis,
the PROBE Examination is administered
and the top 10 high school students
are awarded full scholarships at Colorado State University
as mathematics majors.
