Bicycling Interests

I was the faculty advisor for the RAMS Cycling Team from 2003-2006 during which time I helped establish a scholarship endowment. The team has been very successful in terms of both competition and outreach to the community and it was awarded the Collegiate Cycling Team of the Year award by USA Cycling in 2004 and 2007. I helped to start a nonprofit charitable company called Friends of Rams Cycling, Inc. and served as president. The company's main activity is organizing a community bicycle tour called the Horsetooth Double Dip Bicycle Challenge, which raises money for scholarships for the team and charities in Fort Collins. The Friends of Rams Cycling also awards yearly scholarships to Team members.

In 2006, the HDDBC raised money for an endowment for the team, a local charity called Team Fort Collins, and the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department. More information can be found here: 2006 Horsetooth Double Dip Bicycle Challenge
